chaturdasi should be in the night even if triodasi is there in the moarning

take leave or come home early on triodasi day

eat one meal before shivaratri day (triodasi day)

sleep soon on triodasi day and sleep for long time

wakeup at brahma muhoortham on shivaratri day.

if you dont sleep for long hours then wakeup as late as possible so that you wont fall sleep in the night as staying awake in the night is very importanat.

take head bath.

pray to ganapathi.

take sankalp to shivaratri.

seek blessing of Lord Shiva to avoid any interferences..

do fast. you can have milk and fruits for energy

take second bath in the evening

Wearing a Rudraksha mala and applying ‘vibuthi’ is best.

you can go to temple or do pooja at home or meditate and chant at home.. (said in puranas)

attend Maha Pradosh pooja or rudram or Maha pradosha kala archana

Mid night ligodhbava kalam is very powerful to pray archana and chanting and meditation

if one stays in arunachal on this day shiva likes hime more than his son kumara swamy.

try to keep spine stright through out the night even if you cant be awke.

you can read puranas or even watch god movies or any movie in the worst case if u cant be awake..

take bath next day and break fast during parana time.

some says we have to break fast before chaturdasi and some says after chaturdasi tidi.
